Our Story
Rooted in prayer, Inspired by ancient tradition. Created for the contemplative soul.
Michaelion Press was born from a desire to create prayerful, contemplative resources that speak to the quiet, enduring work of grace. We believe in the rhythm of devotion — in the sacred pause that prayer invites, in the way beauty and tradition can shape the soul, and in the healing power of spiritual reflection.
The name Michaelion is drawn from one of the earliest sanctuaries dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, built near ancient Constantinople on the shores of the Bosphorus. It was a place of healing, prayer, and protection — themes that continue to resonate today. This name reflects a deep devotion to Saint Michael and a hope to offer something enduring and spiritually grounded.
Michaelion Press was also shaped by personal experience with grief and the loss of a loved one who served in law enforcement — a loss that deepened the need for spiritual anchoring and brought new meaning to the intercession of Saint Michael, the patron of those who protect and serve. Out of that quiet ache and searching, this work emerged.
We create novena-centered devotional books that blend traditional Catholic prayers with scripture, reflection, and creative engagement through coloring. These works are designed to accompany those moving through seasons of petition, mourning, intercession, and thanksgiving — always with space for stillness, hope, and grace.
Our first title, centered on St. Thérèse of Lisieux, reflects this vision: a little way of beauty, prayer, and presence. More titles will follow, rooted in the same care.
This is slow, sacred work. And we are honored to share it with you.
“Constantine erected a magnificent church to the Archangel Michael… It is said that many miracles of healing took place there, and the church became famous among the people.”
— Sozomen, Ecclesiastical History, Book 2, Chapter 3 (5th Century)
